Boys Soccer

The boys’ soccer team is currently ranked 1st in their league ahead of both Truckee and Sparks. They are carrying a 15 game winning streak, including shutouts against Incline and Sparks and a 3-1 win against Truckee. They will soon face other talented teams from Southern Nevada at the State Championships.

 

JV Boys Soccer

The JV team has had a successful season with many victorious games including a 3-1 win against Truckee rivals at home last Wednesday, and a strong performance against Sparks on Friday. They are finishing the season well with hard work from the whole team.

 

Girls Soccer

The girl’s team is currently ranked 2nd in the league with a 9 game winning streak and barely behind Truckee. They have had wins against Incline, South Tahoe and Churchill County. Sophomore Maile Markham is ranked 2nd in the league for the number of goals scored and sophomore goalie Casey Garrity is 2nd for the number of goals scored against her. The lakers are looking promising for the upcoming state championships.

 

JV Girls Soccer

The JV girls soccer team has been nearing the end of the season with many consecutive wins including those against Hug, Churchill County, and Quincy. They will face their rivals, Truckee High, on wednesday and are hoping for another win.

 

Girls Tennis

The girls’ tennis team has been constantly improving and was closer than ever to qualifying for the regional championships this season, but barely lost the tough tie breaker against Sparks.

The girls still ended the season strong and hope to come back even next season even stronger.

 

Boys Tennis

The boy’s tennis team ended their season ranked third in the league, barely behind Incline and Churchill County. Juniors Dillon Hudson and Murphy Scott have led the way with wins against Truckee, Incline, and Churchill County. The success of the team in the 2017 season will undoubtedly carry over to next year with plenty of young talent to fill any empty spots.

 

Volleyball

The Girls on the volleyball team are currently 5th in their league and continue to move up the rankings with 3-0 wins against both Silver Stage and West Wendover. The Lakers will face Pershing County in a game this Friday and will hopefully be finishing this season with a victory.

 

Boys Cross Country

The boy’s cross country team is looking strong for the upcoming state championship meet with Senior JC Schoonmaker leading the runners with a first place finish at Santa Cruz in a field of 57 varsity level runners. He was followed by freshman Etienne Bordes, Junior Alex Whitham and Junior Corey Joslin, all finishing in the top 20. The boys were the 1st place team, and they hope to do the same at the regional championships this friday.

 

Girls Cross Country

The girls have been performing well this season with senior Anna Yamauchi leading the team. She’s had multiple top ten finishes in the past races, and is closely followed by juniors Ella Carr and Josii Johnson and freshman Kili Lehmkuhl. The are looking promising for another state title at the championship race next weekend.


 

Mountain Biking

North Tahoe’s Mountain biking team has been finishing well against the bigger teams with standout performances from senior Cami Jahchan who placed 8th at the mammoth bike race, Junior Myla Kahn finishing 3rd for JV girls at the Nevada League Championships, and Sophomore Lily Bradley finishing the season with 3rd best points for Varsity Girls. Sophomore Alan Tester finished 5th in the sophomore boys race at the League Championships and got 1st place in the bike skills comp. The team has many promising young members that are full of potential and will continue to produce outstanding results in the upcoming seasons.
